June 2026 Elections

Voter participation is essential to a healthy democracy. Elections are the
mechanism citizens have to designate the people they want to represent them in
managing their government.

In January 2026, the GrassRoots Institute’s (GRI) Pro Democracy Workgroup
collaborated with the League of Women Voters Mendocino County and Indivisible
Mendocino County to host a conference to develop a Platform for the Common
Good. The chief purpose of the Platform is to serve as a statement by Mendocino
County residents about the challenges we face collectively and what outcomes for
the common good we want our government and society to actualize.

In order to inform Mendocino County’s voters about the candidates and ballot
measures they will be choosing from in the June 2nd, 2026 Primary Election,
GRI’S Pro Democracy Workgroup surveyed local government candidates in regard
to their position on core planks of the Platform for the Common Good.

This Assessment of Local Candidates summarizes the responses supplied by
candidates to the survey as well as incorporating candidate statement information
supplied by the Mendocino County Elections Office. The workgroup takes no
position in support or opposition to any local candidate or ballot measure. This
assessment is solely intended to assist the public to become educated and
informed about local candidates on the June 2nd 2026 Primary Election ballot.
